Unusual Norm features a series of works of Han Chai’s, exploring the strange moment where normal items in sculpture being placed in an abnormal ‘situation’. The day-to-day items are selected based on Han Chai’s living experience in rural areas in China with a group of young people later called “Sha Ma Te” in early 2000s, such as plastic Flip-flops, Colorful hairs and woven bags.
