Refresh, transform, iterate – we are constantly undergoing change, either actively or passively. As the first group exhibition in the new space of ARR Gallery, “Refresh” is not only the opening of an exhibition but also an update of concepts and perspectives. Refreshing doesn’t mean negating the past; rather, it is about generating new possibilities within continuity. It implies rekindling our thinking in the daily inertia and acknowledging that every new event will transform experience after experience. The artists invited for this exhibition have all had some connection with ARR to varying degrees. At this moment of “refreshing” the gallery space, familiar forms will be reinterpreted, and existing viewing experiences will be broken down and reorganized. We regard this space as a new anchor point, linking concepts, diverse feelings, and new experiences. At the same time, this exhibition is also the first attempt of ARR Gallery to maintain its philosophy of “rooted in Hangzhou while looking globally” and to realize its vision of “continuously presenting exhibitions with thinking and creativity and becoming an open and free art exchange venue” in the new space.
