As an institutional collaboration between ARR Gallery and Deltainst, the group exhibition “Water Album” specially invites 12 artists/collectives, presenting a total of 12 works/series. The creative media encompass painting, performance, installation, video, and more.
Both ARR Gallery (est. 2020) and Deltainst (est. 2023) are local institutions born in Hangzhou. The exhibition concept, “Water Album,” points to a site-specific cultural character while also resonating with the continuity and differentiation within the local artistic context. At the same time, it serves as a response to the geographical features of our practice area—a state of constant gathering, converging, and shaping.
“Water” is homogeneous yet diverse: gushing, frozen, whimsical, playful, dangerous, accidental, harmonious, sensual, worldly…… Ultimately, may this exhibition bring good fortune to our current artistic environment!
